JUNIOR SURF

Dates and Times

Junior surf runs from December to mid March, rain hail or shine, 10am every Sunday morning, followed by a sausage sizzle. No pressure to attend each session – attend when it suits your family.

Age groups

  • 4 years
  • 5-6 years
  • 7-8 years
  • 9-10 years
  • 11-12 years
  • 13 years – Rookies
  • 14+ years – Lifeguard / Patrol Support Trainees

    What you'll do and learn

  • Gather all together, sign in, line up in age groups, communicate notices/events
  • Warm up eg - group run / stretch
  • Surf Life Saving theory education eg – how to spot a rip
  • Beach games on the sand
  • Water games / water confidence / ocean swimming / boogie boards / knee boards / rescues
  • Shower and Sausage sizzle

    Nipper Gear

    All nippers require a club cap and high viz vest which can be purchased at a subsidised rate of $15 each, thanks to Ray White Bream Bay for their sponsorship of our Junior Surf Uniform.
    Wetsuit optional

    Parent/ Caregiver involvement

    Surf Club is not a drop off facility – parents/caregivers must be prepared to get in the water too, due to water safety ratios, kids love it when you join in as well!
